29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a). On or about 12/3/14, an Adecco employee working at The Skydyne Company, Port Jervis, NY, in the assembly area. The employee uses Loctite and Epoxy adhesives (Versamid 140 and Epotuf 37-127) when assembling plastic cases. The Loctite 5510 and Epoxy adhesives contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, Triethylenetetramine and fatty acids. One of the epoxies, Versamid 140, is a corrosive. The employer did not provide and require the use of chemical gloves. b). On or about 12/3/14, One Source Staffing Solution employees working at The Skydyne Company, Port Jervis, NY, in the assembly area.
