29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) The Rosser head conveyor tail pulley had unguarded paddles that created an amputation hazard as they passed the conveyor framework. b) The gate which prevents access to the big de-barker during operation had a micro switch that was not operating at the time of the inspection on 7/17/2014. c) The foot pedal used to run the small de-barker on manual did not have a guard on it at the time of the inspection on 7/17/2014.
