29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) a) Lowe' s retail store, 265 McLean Blvd., Paterson, NJ: On or about March 14, 2023, an employee used gas-powered saws to cut concrete, while another employee assisted by spraying water on the saw cuts to control dust. The employees were exposed to carbon monoxide from the exhaust generated by the gasoline powered walk-behind saw and the gasoline-powered cut off saw and silica dust from the concrete, but the employer did not provide the required training.
