Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 009 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.272(e)(1): The employer did not provide training to employees at least annually and when changes in job assignment will expose them to new hazards on the general safety precautions and specific procedures and safety practices listed in section (e)(1)(i) and (e)(1)(ii): The employer was failing to protect employee from engulfment and struck by hazards. This was most recently documented on February 16, 2023 at 417 West Railway, Bruning, Nebraska. Employees working in around grain bins and grain handling equipment were not provided training that would allow them to recognize hazards associated with working in a grain handling facility and the methods to mitigate those hazards.
