29 CFR 1926.452(a)(9): Where wooden poles were spliced, the ends were not squared and the upper section did not rest squarely on the lower section. Wood splice plates were not provided on at least two adjacent sides, and did not extend at least 2 feet (0.6 m) on either side of the splice, overlap the abutted ends equally, and have at least the same cross-sectional areas as the poles: (a) 1121 N Jefferson St, Jackson MS - On or about May 20, 2019 the employer allowed employees to work from a wood pole scaffold which did not have splices on load-bearing poles, exposing employees to a fall hazard to the ground.
