29 CFR 1910.242(a): Hand and portable powered tools or equipment are not kept in safe condition: Location: Pallet Repair Station 10 The violation was observed on November 28th, 2016, when an employee was exposed to lacerations and injuries from shattered blade projectiles because the pivot shoe on the Milwaukee Sawzall Power-Reciprocating Saw was missing. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all hand and powered tools and equipment are kept in safe condition, including having appropriate guards and other requisite safeguards present on the device upon receipt. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance.
