29 CFR 1910.219(f)(1): Gear(s) were not guarded by a complete enclosure or by one of the methods specified in 29 CFR 1910.219(f)(1)(ii) and (f)(1)(iii): The employer does not ensure gears on the back of a Hydrashear shear are properly guarded. This violation was observed on or about July 19, 2016 at the facility. Employees were exposed to the hazard of caught-in or contact with the moving gears. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure the gears on the Hydrashear shear are properly guarded.
