29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(iv): There were damaged parts that adversely affected the safe operation or mechanical strength of the equipment, such as parts that were broken, bent, cut, or deteriorated by corrosion, chemical action, or overheating: a) Building 1 - On or about 11/04/14 and at times prior thereto a junction box in proximity of the double end trim saw was detached from the wall, and suspended from a bent conduit. Employees were exposed to potential contact with live parts. b) Building 2 - On or about 11/04/14 and at times prior thereto the junction box for the motor of the Wadkin tenoner (440 V) was loose, detached from the motor, and suspended from the conductors. Employees were exposed to potential contact with live parts. c) Building 2 - On or about 11/04/14 and at times prior thereto the Morgan chop saw had a damaged flexible conduit at the motor. The conduit broke loose from the junction box, and the internal conductors were exposed to strain. Workers were exposed to potential contact with live parts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
