29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of total particulate, iron oxide fume and copper fume listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 15 milligrams per cubic meter(mg/m3), 10 mg/m3 and 0.1 mg/m3 respectively: a) Welding area, on or about 8/3/16: An employee performing air arc-ing was exposed to 44 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of total dust or 2.9 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 15 mg/m3 during the 480 minute sampling period. Ventilation used was arranged in such a manner so as to draw air contaminants into the employees breathing zone. b) Welding area, on or about 8/3/16: An employee performing air arc-ing was exposed to 32 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of iron oxide fume or 3.2 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 10 mg/m3 during the 480 minute sampling period. c) Welding area, on or about 8/3/16: An employee performing air arc-ing was exposed to 0.3 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of copper fume or 3.0 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 0.1 mg/m3 during the 480 minute sampling period.
