29 CFR 1910.265(c)(18)(i): Construction, operation, and maintenance of conveyors were not in accordance with American National Standard B20.1-1957, which was incorporated by reference as specified in 29 CFR 1910.6: The employer does not ensure one or more methods of machine guarding is provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. This violation was observed on December 11, 2012, in the sawmill; where: (a) Ingoing nip point located between the rotating sprocket and chain components on the Cant conveyor. (b) Ingoing nip point located between the rotating sprocket and chain components on the Edger conveyor. (c) Ingoing nip point located between the rotating sprocket and chain components on the Trimmer conveyor.
