29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(ii):There was a defect or evidence of damage that could have exposed an employee to injury and the defective or damaged item was not removed from service and an employee was using it before repairs and tests necessary to render the equipment safe were made: (a)Global Harvest Foods, LLC at 103 South Broadway Avenue, Miller, SD 57362: On or about and at times prior to January 4, 2024, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from electrical shock in that the power cord for the Bico drill press, Model # 1703, located in the Maintenance Bay had been improperly repaired and patched with electrical tape. This condition exposed employees to shock and burn hazards. (b)Global Harvest Foods, LLC at 103 South Broadway Avenue, Miller, SD 57362: On or about and at times prior to January 4, 2024, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from electrical shock in that wiring for a Bosch portable grinder, Model 1300 Slim, located in the Maintenance Bay had been improperly repaired with electrical tape. This condition exposed employees to shock and burn hazards.
