29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: (a) The Main Maintenance Shop - On or about October 25, 2023, employee operated a Craftsman bench grinder with a tongue guard opening of approximately one inch. (b) The Main Maintenance Shop - On or about October 25, 2023, employee operated a Black & Decker MFG Co. bench grinder with a tongue guard opening of approximately 1/2 inch. (c) Potato Storage Maintenance Shop - On or about October 30, 2023, employee operated a Dayton bench grinder with a tongue guard opening of approximately 5/8 inch. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
