29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: On or about January 27, 2023, at a facility located 502 E. Linden Street in Abbotsford, WI; the employer did not train production personnel as authorized employees to lockout/tagout their assigned equipment. Production employees were exposed to caught-in and struck-by hazards associated with energized machines, and unexpected start-up or release of energy sources such as, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, and gravitational. Production employees were not trained to understand how to control energy sources prior to tasks including unjamming, setup, and cleaning.
