29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: a) Set Up Department: A Dayton 10 inch bench grinder, model 4Z912C, had an opening of 3/4 inch between the end of the tongue guard and the abrasive wheel, on or about 9/13/17. b) Set Up Department: A DeWalt 8 inch bench grinder, model DW758 serial number 2011 53-YL61679, had an opening on the right grinding wheel measuring 1 1/2 inches between the wheel periphery and the abrasive wheel, on or about 9/13/17. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
