29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(ii): Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 °F (37.8 °C), were dispensed into containers without the nozzle and container being electrically interconnected: a). On or about 12/3/14, for a Here's Help employee working at The Skydyne Company, Port Jervis, NY, in the paint/molding area. Employee transfers Acetone from a metal container into the lines of a hydraulic pump. The Acetone is used to clean out the epoxy in the lines at the end of the day. A pneumatic pump is used. The Acetone is a Category 1 flammable. The employer did not implement bonding and grounding while pumping acetone through the lines. b). On or about 12/3/14, for a Here's Help employee working at The Skydyne Company, Port Jervis, NY, in the paint/molding area. Employee operates a pneumatic pump to dispense Norox Mec and Polycor to mold the cases. Norox Mec is a Category 4 and Polycor is a Category 3 flammable. The employer did not implement bonding and grounding while pumping Norox Mec and Polycor through the lines.
