29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed part(s) of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform were not protected by stationary casing(s) enclosing shafting completely or by trough(s) enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting. On or about 1 May 2017 and at times prior thereto, employees were performing box making operations in close proximity to unguarded shafts, exposing the employees to the hazards of being caught in the rotating shafts. A) At Jumbo Slotter/Printer there are two unguarded horizontal shafts which power the conveyors for the layboy and stacker and three unguarded register motors. B) At the Large Gluer, the rollers that move the boxes are mounted on unguarded rotating shafts.
