29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(21): Each employee shall use at least one hand to grasp the ladder when progressing up and/or down the ladder. a) North side, west end of building; exterior wall of the Pro-Shop: Employee with a pneumatic nail gun in one hand, walked up the 24 ft Werner Aluminum extension ladder to a position approximately 7-8 feet above ground level; ladder not extended and positioned at approximated 52° to the horizontal, on or about 02/24/2017; b) North side of entrance overhang; northeast corner of building: Employee, while holding one end of the makeshift 29 foot long 2x10 inch plank, climbed to and stood on the top of the 6 Fiberglass Step Ladder, on or about 02/24/2017. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
