29 CFR 1910.266(h)(1)(vi): Each danger tree, including lodged trees and snags, were not felled or removed using mechanical or other techniques that minimize employee exposure before work is commenced in the area of the danger tree: a: Rock Castle logging site. A danger/lodged tree was not felled or removed safely before continuing felling operations. A 70' tall, 22 inch diameter, white oak tree was felled using a Stihl MS660 chainsaw. When felled, the white oak tree became lodged in surrounding trees. With the white oak tree lodged in other trees, an 81' tall, 25 1/2 inch diameter red oak tree was felled which caused the white oak to fall, as determined February 21, 2013.
