29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Every open-sided floor or platform 4 feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level shall be guarded by a standard railing (or the equivalent as specified in paragraph (e)(3) of this section) on all open sides except where there is entrance to a ramp, stairway, or fixed ladder. (a) Kill Plant - On or about September 18, 2012 employees were exposed to a fall hazard of 4 to 13 feet while loading and unloading chicken crates from the platform of a trailer. (b) Kill Plant - On or about September 18, 2012 employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 4 feet when working on the south end of the back dock. (c) Kill Plant - On or about September 20, 2012 employees were exposed to a 6 foot fall hazard when standing on the lip of the chiller to facilitate cleaning of the chiller.
