Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/06/13 Equipment:Yale Forklift, Model #357A, Serial #5621352-11 Hyster Forklift, Model #4025, Serial #E114HD1664B Condition:Employees were operating forklifts without functioning seatbelts. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to install and utilize restraint systems in accordance with the current version of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B56.1. "Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks", and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B56.1 - 2000, "Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks". Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
