Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:12/10/08 Location:Right Side of DeVilbiss Spray Booth Condition:A 3/4-inch, Schedule 40, Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe (PVC) was used to transport compressed air at 110 p.s.i. to pressurize a spray gun. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are to encapsulate the PVC pipe in shatter resistant material or to replace the PVC pipe with pipe approved to convey compressed air.
