Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 008 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2):Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) On or about March 21, 2024, the employer did not ensure that electrical equipment utilized by employees was being used as listed, in that a Makita 7 1/4 Circular Saw, Model: 5007NB, being used in the Customs Building was not equipped with an appropriate plug to power this electrical apparatus. The manufacturers polarized plug had been removed and replaced with a non-polarized plug which exposed employees to electrical shock and burn hazards. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
