29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2): Supported scaffold poles, legs, posts, frames, or uprights did not bear on base plates, mud sills, or other adequate firm foundation: (a) On or about 2/15/2023, Orville E. Kean Campus, Charlotte Amalie, VI 00802 - The CSHO observed a tubular welded frame scaffolding system that did not have a level and a firm foundation under the mudsills, exposing employees to a fall from an unlevel scaffold. The APEX Construction Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1576913, citation number 1, item number 1/C and was affirmed as a final order on 08-11-2022, with respect to a workplace located at old Viya building rehabilitation. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item, as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
