29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting runways used exclusively for oiling, or running adjustments, shall be protected by a stationary casing enclosing shafting completely or by a trough enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as location requires. a) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 700-ton AIDA press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. b) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 500-ton Bliss press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. c) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 400-ton Blow press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. d) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 500-ton Komatsu press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. e) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 200-ton Minster 1 press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. f) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 300-ton Minster 2 press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. g) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 300-ton Niagara press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard. h) On or about July 11, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the horizontal shafting of the uncoiler auxiliary equipment on the 1000-ton Verson press was protected exposing employees to a caught-by hazard.
