29 CFR 1910.1025(m)(2)(i): The employer shall post the following warning signs in each work area where the PEL is exceeded: DANGER LEAD MAY DAMAGE FERTILITY OR THE UNBORN CHILD CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM DO NOT EAT, DRINK OR SMOKE IN THIS AREA a. Rear Yard, Ferrous Metal Scrap Burn Area - The employer did not post a warning sign in the work area where an employee was exposed to airborne concentrations of inorganic lead that exceeded the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit. An employee, who was performing torch burning of metal scrap, was exposed to 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.08550 milligrams per cubic meter of airborne lead during a 384 minutes occupational exposure. The 8-hour TWA employee exposure was 17.1 times the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.050 milligrams per cubic meter. This violation was noted on March 7, 2019.
