Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 008 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3)(iii)(A): Vehicles or mechanical equipment capable of having parts of their structures elevated near energized overhead lines were not operated so that a clearance of 10 feet (305 cm) was maintained: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical shock hazards while performing tree trimming activities. This was most recently documented on October 19, 2018 at 8209 Garfield Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. Employee(s) accessing the yard for the purpose of tree removal work were exposed to electrical shock hazards of between 120 - 240 volts in that the Ford F-750 truck equipped with a Versalift aerial lift attachment was driven directly under the service drop line. Ten feet of clearance was not maintained.
