29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment was isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: a) Exigo Metal Works/Hillside, NJ- Production Area: Employer did not develop a Lackout/Tagout program for employees required to perform servicing and maintenance activities on equipment including, but not limited to, a curing oven, which uses natural gas as a fuel source. Employees entered the oven to clean and remove accumulated powder or pick up metal pieces that fell to the floor, without utilizing Lockout/Tagout. Condition observed on or about March 17, 2016.
