29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(vii): Switchboards, panelboards, and distribution boards installed for the control of light and power circuits, and motor control centers were not located in dedicated spaces and protected from damage: a) K Plant, area behind the #1, #2, and #6 presses, 6th and Center Streets, Tarentum, Pennsylvania 15084: Observed on or about August 28, 2015, the motor control center for the 800 Ton Boyd mechanical power press (model Y, identified as press #6) was not located in a dedicated space that was protected from damage. Forklifts moved hoppers within 14 inches of the #6 press motor control center on a daily basis. Press operators, electricians, and laborers were exposed to the hazards of electric shock and electrocution. b) K Plant, area behind the #1, #2, and #6 presses, 6th and Center Streets, Tarentum, Pennsylvania 15084: Observed on or about August 28, 2015, the motor control center for the #2 LAEIS hydraulic press (model number HPF 1400) was not located in a dedicated space that was protected from damage. Forklifts operated in close proximity to the #2 press motor control center on a daily basis. Press operators, electricians, and laborers were exposed to the hazards of electric shock and electrocution. c) K Plant, area behind the #1, #2, and #6 presses, 6th and Center Streets, Tarentum, Pennsylvania 15084: Observed on or about August 28, 2015, the motor control center for the #1 LAEIS hydraulic press (model number HPF 1250) was not located in a dedicated space that was protected from damage. Forklifts operated in close proximity to the #1 press motor control center on a daily basis. Press operators, electricians, and laborers were exposed to the hazards of electric shock and electrocution. d) K Plant, area behind the #1 press, 6th and Center Streets, Tarentum, Pennsylvania 15084: Observed on or about August 28, 2015, an electric panel marked '120/240 volt' was not located in a dedicated space and protected from damage. The electric panel was previously damaged by a forklift which resulted in the dead front panel being knocked out of the cabinet. Press operators, electricians, and laborers were exposed to the hazards of electric shock and electrocution.
