Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 008 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) Building 1 - On or about 11/05/14 and at times prior thereto employees utilized compressed air from the plant without pressure regulation to clean equipment and to remove sawdust from clothing. (The pressure at the nozzle was measured, and was in excess of 100 psig). b) Building 2 - On or about 11/05/14 and at times prior thereto employees utilized compressed air from the plant without pressure regulation to clean equipment and to remove sawdust from clothing. (The pressure at the nozzle was measured, and was in excess of 90 psig). In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
