29 CFR 1910.1001(d)(2)(i): Each employer who has a workplace or work operation covered by this standard, except as provided for in paragraphs (d)(2)(ii) and (d)(2)(iii) of this section, must perform initial monitoring of employees who are, or may reasonably be expected to be exposed to airborne concentrations at or above the TWA permissible exposure limit and/or excursion limit. (a) On November 12, 2014, bulk sampling conducted in the furnace room produced 3.0% Chrysotile in the brown tile. The air in the furnace room is recirculated throughout the entire store. (b) The Employer failed to conduct initial employee monitoring after an evaluation of asbestos was conducted and obtained positive asbestos results.
