29 CFR 1910.119(f)(1)(ii)(B): The employer's written operating procedures covering operating limits did not address the steps required to correct or avoid deviation: a) Frick ammonia refrigeration system: The SOPs for the spiral freezer (SP-1) coils, RESOP 17-20, did not discuss the steps to correct or avoid the consequences of deviation for the hot gas defrost cycle, overpressurization of the refrigeration system or high condensing pressures, on or about 10/10/2017. b) GEA/FES ammonia refrigeration system: The SOP for LK 18 and LK19 spiral air units, OPS-10A, did not discuss the steps to correct or avoid the consequences of deviation, such as, but not limited to, insufficient removal of ammonia from the coils when removing the units from service and removal of air from the units when returning to service after being opened to atmosphere, on or about 10/10/17. c) Frick ammonia refrigeration system: The SOP for Air Unit EV-3 Yeast Cooler, RESOP 28, did not discuss the steps to correct or avoid the consequences of deviation, such as, but not limited to, overpressurization of the refrigeration system or high condensing pressures, on or about 10/10/17. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
