29 CFR 1910.213(r)(4):The mention of specific machines in paragraphs (a) thru (q) and this paragraph (r) of this section, inclusive, is not intended to exclude other woodworking machines from the requirement that suitable guards and exhaust hoods be provided to reduce to a minimum the hazard due to the point of operation of such machines. a. On or about February 4, 2021, employees were operating a HYDRO-AIR floor truss saw. The employer did not ensure that the height of the saw's hood protected employees from contact to the saw blade above the work piece, thereby exposing employees to an amputation hazard b. On or about February 4, 2021, employees were operating a Depaw Industries Quadri-Cut Saw to cut wood cords for roof trusses. The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from contact to the rotating saw blade(s) by an adequate means of guarding, thereby exposing employees to an amputation hazard. c. On or about February 4, 2021, employees were operating a multi-cut saw to cut wood webs for roof trusses. The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from contact to the rotating saw blade by an adequate means of guarding, thereby exposing employees to an amputation hazard.
