29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) Worksite, Mechanic Shop The employer did not require hazardous chemical training for each employee that was exposed to such chemicals on its worksites. Employees who performed routine maintenance activities on vans and buses worked with hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to Permatex Battery Protector & Sealer, Product # 80370 (containing Xylene, Acetone and Ethyl Benzene); and CRC QD Electronic Cleaner, Product # 05101 (containing Naptha, Difluoroethane and Dimethylbutane); and were not provided with hazardous chemical training on, or about March 13, 2015. Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this violation, in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. Failure to comply may result in an additional penalty of $1,000.
