29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): (a)Wheeler Tank Manufacturing, Inc. at 4001 North 4th Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104: On or about and at times prior to February 27, 2024, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from electrical hazards in that the wiring methods used to power the fluorescent lighting in the vicinity of the paint employee locker room did not utilize enclosures or other means to reduce employee exposure to energized components. The fluorescent lighting was powered by temporary wiring (extension cords) being connected to the lighting by use of wire connectors. This condition exposed employees to shock and burn hazards. Note: Lighting within 20 feet of a spraying area and not separated by a partition are additionally required to be totally enclosed per 29 CFR 1910.107(c)(1).
