29 CFR 1910.1053(j)(3)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee covered by this section can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of respirable crystalline silica hazards and controls: a)Shark Glass Recycling, LLC, Lavonia, GA - An employee driving a forklift was exposed to crystalline silica at 32.6 µg/m3 (micrograms of silica per cubic meter of air), 1.3 times the Action Level (AL) of 50 µg/m3 (micrograms of silica per cubic meter of air), on or about March 7, 2019. Information and training on silica under the new globally harmonized system (GHS) had not been conducted. b)Shark Glass Recycling, LLC, Lavonia, GA - An employee driving a forklift was exposed to crystalline silica at 32.8µg/m3 (micrograms of silica per cubic meter of air), 1.3 times the Action Level (AL) of 50 µg/m3 (micrograms of silica per cubic meter of air), on or about March 7, 2019.
