Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(b)(2)(i): The employer did not maintain a written copy of the procedures outlined in paragraph (b)(2) of 29 CFR 1910.333 and did not make it available for inspection by the Assistant Secretary of Labor and his or her authorized representatives: (a) On or about March 3, 2017, an employee disconnected the 440 VAC circuit to an air compressor and removed the fuses by using his bare hand(s). The employer did not have a written copy of the procedures outlined in paragraph [(b)(2)(i)], did not develop a safe procedure for deenergizing circuits [(b)(2)(ii)] and did not use test equipment to test the circuit to verify the circuits were deenergized [(b)(2)(iv)]. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
