29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about October 23, 2024, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that the diamond wire saw was guarded to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards created by flying pieces from the diamond wire saw cutting stone, and the wire snapping. b) On or about October 23, 2024, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that the 3ft saw was guarded to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from the rotating gear shaft, and the ingoing nip points from the saw table moving along the rail.
