Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(2): "Work on energized equipment." Only qualified persons may work on electric circuit parts or equipment that have not been deenergized under the procedures of paragraph (b) of this section. Such persons shall be capable of working safely on energized circuits and shall be familiar with the proper use of special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools. The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical shock and arc flash hazards while performing equipment maintenance and servicing. This was most recently documented on or about 03/09/2018, CABKA North America Inc., located at 123 Byassee Drive, Hazelwood, MO, the electrics to the 480 volt motor breaker on the Husky was not deenergized and locked out. The process of working safely with the use of special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools was not implemented. This caused an employee to experience an arc flash injury.
