Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: On or about 05/04/2015 the employer failed to ensure that conduit and push button controls, which contained electrical wiring for machinery at the site, were free from damage exposing operator(s) and other employees working in the area to potential electrical hazards. The damaged conduit and controls includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. The junction box located on the northwest side of the run-out table located in the Cast department had exposed live wires. b. The three (3) push button controls for the AP Roller Bearing machine located in the Equipment Rebuild department, was defective. Employees who use the controls to actuate the machinery were exposed to electrical shocks.
