29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include at least the measures employees can take to protect themselves from these hazards, including specific procedures the employer has implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment to be used. a. Booster room, Dock 4 - Employees who chose to respond to and investigate a leaking cylinder of chlorine gas by taking unauthorized corrective actions such as placing the cylinder into a gas cabinet vented to a caustic scrubber required retraining and/or enhanced training regarding appropriate evacuation response procedures. Chlorine concentrations determined by direct reading instruments and in place by monitors indicated exposure at or above 10 parts per million, the level Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health.
