29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from in going nip points and amputation hazards associated with working near inadequately guarded equipment. This was most recently evident during the inspection of the facility located at 2500 Old Hadar Rd. Norfolk, NE 68701; where the employer has employees working on and near inadequately guarded machines. Instances include but are not limited to: i. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards on the Hoppers on shredding lines 1-6 ii. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards Bema Mixer iii. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards Bema Openers iv. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards Bema Blows v. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards Bema Former at the beginning of the oven. vi. Employees operating and exposed to in going nip points and amputation hazards Bema slitter vii.
