29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning. Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a. On or about May 31, 2023, employees were using a compressed air spray nozzle that was operating at approximately 116 p.s.i. to spray parts and equipment during CNC operations at the small Haas CNC machines. b. On or about May 31, 2023, employees were using a compressed air spray nozzle that was operating at approximately 116 p.s.i. to spray parts and equipment during vertical mill operations at the Atrump Machinery Inc. milling machine.
