29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about September 16, 2022, on the second floor of the sorting conveyor and under the conveyor belt return, employees were exposed to a stuck-by, caught-in, and caught between hazard when walking under the unguarded horizontal belt and conveyor pulley assembly, that was located approximately five (5) feet 10 inches above the floor. b) On or about September 16, 2022, on the first floor of the sorting conveyor and under the conveyor belt return, employees were exposed to a stuck-by, caught-in, and caught between hazard when walking under the unguarded horizontal belt and conveyor pulley assembly that was approximately five (5) feet, ten 10 inches above the floor. c) On or about September 16, 2022, on the second floor of the sorting conveyor across from access stairway, the conveyor belt and conveyor pulley assembly were not guarded exposing employees to a stuck-by, caught-in, and caught between hazard when walking and working at or around the unguarded horizontal belt and conveyor pulley assembly that was approximately thirty-two (32) inches above the work platform.
