29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed part(s) of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform were not protected by stationary casing(s) enclosing shafting completely or by trough(s) enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting: (a) 157 West Jackson Street, New Holland, PA, Interior of Milk Receiving Area, Silo 30C, floor level in front of the silo - On or about June 9, 2022, the whey pump motor contained a 5-inch long horizontal shaft which was approximately 2-inches in diameter, and within 1-foot from ground level, was not adequately enclosed with appropriate guarding. Employees were exposed to caught-in hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
