Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. (a)C & C Construction, Inc. at 82 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, Hazel SD 57242: On or about and at times prior to May 22, 2020, the employer did not ensure that fall protection was utilized when employees were performing welding activities within a 55-gallon drum connected to a material hoist system used to lift personnel to the upper levels of a new structural steel tower section. This condition exposed employees to a 40-foot fall hazard.
