Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007 Hazard:

29 CFR 1926.1412(d)(1)(xiv): Safety devices and operational aids for proper operation. The employer is failing to protect employees from structural collapse or struck-by hazards associated with improper cribbing and other deficiencies that should have been identified for the lifting equipment used at this location. This was most recently observed on or about October 14, 2019, at a jobsite located at 900 SW Lower Lake Road, St. Joseph, Missouri. The employer did not have a competent person perform a visual inspection prior to each shift who would have observed that the crane's anti-two-block devices had been disengaged, thus exposing employees to struck by hazards.
