Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer did not have each employee who performed work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. (General Industry reference 29 CFR 1910.27(a)) On or about March 19, 2019, and times prior thereto, the employer allowed employees engaged in welding work activities to work from a mast-climbing work platform without providing training by a qualified person in the subject to recognize hazards associated with the platforms being used. This exposed the employees to caught-between and/or fall hazards from a height greater than 10 feet.
