29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: Employees were exposed to fire and electrical shock hazards. Employees engaged in motor assembly, testing, simulating loads, and other production activities were exposed to fire and electrical shock hazards in that the flexible cords and relocatable power taps were used in lieu of fixed wiring. a) Two of the relocatable power taps used to supply power to the testing units, the Magtrol machines at the Assembly Area (Front Shop). b) Orange extension cord used to supply power to the testing units at the Assembly Area (Front Shop) next to the florescent light. c) Orange extension cord used to supply power to the external mobile fan cooling the air compressor at the back corner of the machine shop (Back Shop). 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
