29 CFR 1910.217(c)(1)(i): The employer did not provide and ensure the usage of point of operation guards or properly applied point of operation devices on every operation performed on mechanical power press(es): a) Stamping Area- On or about December 13, 2018, the employer failed to ensure that all mechanical power presses, such as the Press #3673, were being used with the use of point of operation guarding. The point of operation was not guarded when the mechanical power press was being run in continuous mode while the operator reached in to retrieve cut parts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
