29 CFR 1910.146(g)(1): The employer shall provide training so that all employees whose work is regulated by this section acquire the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of the duties assigned under this section. a. On or about September 25, 2017, located at Furnace #2 and Furnace #3, the employer had not trained employees prior to being assigned to perform cleaning activities inside gas furnaces (permit-required confined space) to ensure the safe performance of assigned duties.
